Decomposition of Social Networks doesn’t shows particular persons as a smallest elements or building blocks. Person is just microscopic building block from social network perspective, a basic ingrediency, but not the only one. Attention in social interaction is focused on relationships, which we believe are basic building blocks, essential for groups, communities and network creations. So building blocks are **relationships** which differs in dependency of zoom level and various relationship aspects (relationship categorization directly connected to granularity level and network attributes). ![[Pasted image 20230709104728.png|Figure 1: Shifting focus form persons to relationships and their patterns]] Shifting focus from **Macroscopic** (analogy with Social Network) to **Microscopic** view shows particles (persons) with numerous relationships, which creates complex web even if we consider just hundreds of particles (persons). As a result, it’s impossible to recognize relationship patterns and control / manage interactions on massive scale. This Living World [WoL] consist from atoms and subatomic particles , where nature doesn’t show us any isolated building blocks but rather appears as a complex **Web of Life** among the various parts of a unified whole. Subatomic particles are not elements, but interconnections among elements [1]. In **Quantum Theory**, material objects dissolve at the subatomic level into wavelike patterns of probabilities. These patterns don’t represent probabilities of elements, but rather probabilities of interconnections. In Quantum Theory we never end up with elements, we always deal with interconnections. Subatomic particles defined by quantum physics cannot be understood as isolated entities but must be defined through their interconnections [1]. ![[Pasted image 20230709104756.png|Figure 2: Atoms and subatomic particles]] The **Gestalt** Psychology characterized by an anti-mechanistic outlook, asserted that living organisms perceive things not in terms of isolated elements , but as integrated perceptual patterns – meaningful organized whole, which exhibit qualities that are absent in their parts. “Ultimately – as Quantum Physics showed so dramatically – there are no parts at all. What we (Humans) call a part is merely a pattern in an inseparable **web of relationships**. Therefore, the shift from the parts to the whole can also be seen as a shift from elements to relationships” - this theory, greatly supported by Fritjof Capra in his book “Web of Life”, is central idea of our assumption which dictates new approach - we have to concentrate on relationship patterns, not elements. Therefore we propose **concentration on relationship patterns in all systems**, not just in Life and Social Systems, but ultimately in #Technosystem and #Econosystem too. ![[Pasted image 20230709104821.png|Figure 3: Communities , Networks and Super Organism]] **Ecology** as a “Science of Relations” shifts focus on relation chains and cycles. It is the highest possible level of relationship definition, with description of “Super organism” and Ecosystem inside. Living organisms inside animals and plants are concentrated into communities. The Organisms are important for a plant, but what shape communities are interconnections between them. These interconnections creates “Super organism” itself, with living network of communities, fully dependent on interconnections between them [1]. ## References: [1] FRITJOF CAPRA: THE WEB OF LIFE, ISBN 0-387-47676-0 ## Related to [[Ecosystem and Spheres]] [[Ecosystem history, enablers and future stages]]
