Traditionally Symbolism refers to the late 19th-century art movement dominating in the poetry but later spreading to all genres of art, literature, theater, music, architecture but also impacted fields of philosophy and psychology. Origination of symbolism was marked by an attack on rationalism and realism and so it supported the idealistic ideas, imagination, and spirituality with its tendencies to celebrate mortality and sexuality. Etymologically a Greek **symbolon**, was an object cut in half constituting a sign of recognition when the carriers were able to reassemble the two-halves. The key word is recognition.
What type of recognition we are striving for (that can not be expressed or is insufficiently expressed in existing languages) and what are the qualities that new system of symbols would want to describe? What are new objects or situations that would demand new recognition. InfoSymbolism suggests a construction of a new role of symbol in the information age - starting in mid-20th century. Do we look at Information about the symbol or at symbolism of the Information that would lead us to more practical and simpler way of communicating but with a **meta complexity** and potentiality in its foundation?
If the InfoSymbolism is an attempt to create an universal visual Esperanto – than its roots are in the historic biblical claim of an original language, common to all human beings.

The English philosopher John Wilkins in An Essay towards a Real Character and a Philosophical Language attempted to create a universal, artificial language, based upon an innovative classification of knowledge. We read that Wilkins “constructed family of symbols corresponding to an elaborate classification scheme which was intended to provide elementary building blocks from which could be constructed the universe's every possible thing and notion. Each **symbol represented a concept** directly, without being any way of vocalizing it at all.” [3]
Looking back at the simplest definition of Symbolism from online dictionary, we see a symbol as a representation of an ideas or qualities.
Is it possible to develop a system that would allow the entire sphere of Human to Human, and Machine to Human, Human to Machine and Machine to Machine interactions function on the bases of platform created by InfoSymbolism?
We’ve witnessed how use of symbols emerged naturally on social media or how new computer languages appeared organically with evolving technologies. If there is a need for mega system that would allow the use of symbols to orchestrate the functions of life on this planet or interplanetary spaces, then perhaps **joining the movement** is not such a bad idea.
---
It is hard to portrait the implication of a new **visual symbolic architecture** for new era of communication. Will new figures, ideograms, hieroglyphs, tokens, icons , or NFTs represent a new organically implemented mode of data management and communication in all facets of life and construct unimaginable new icongraphy?
We should also mention an Deleuzeian and Guattarian argument that language does not serve to pass along information or to communicate knowledge but rather, establish a sense of structure or order. [2]
Information and symbolism opens a panoramic plateau, where future of human knowledge, language, transport of information and mode of communication and their representations are at stake.
