We briefly discussed semantic web and MetaNotation in "[[How is MetaNotation connected to Semantic WEB]]" article. Now is the time to take a look at the semantic roles and responsibilities to operate distributed semantics across the globe.
There is a plethora of different job roles often associated with ontologies and semantics such as data analysts, data scientists, ontologists, data engineers and many more. Let's take a look at our attempt to summarize semantic roles and their responsibilities associated with semantic lifecycle.

Responsibilities aligned with semantic components are divided into three groups:
## Semantic Methodology and Framework
The Semantic Web Stack (diagram below) illustrates the architecture of the Semantic Web. Multiple Semantics frameworks utilizes Semantic Web Stack with different techniques and methodologies (i.e. OSF, MetaX, OpenLink, GATE)
![[Pasted image 20230709091934.png|Figure 2: Semantic WEB Stack]]
- **Standard body** (or consortium / alliance) define and own specific Semantic Framework and associated Methodology describing functionality and usage
- **Product Manager** (person or company role) manages definition, variations and further development of Semantic Framework and associated Methodology
## Semantic Ontology
#Ontology engineering is a field which studies the methods and methodologies for building ontologies, which encompasses a representation, formal naming and definition of the categories, properties and relations between the concepts, data and entities. In a broader sense, this field also includes a knowledge construction of the domain using formal ontology representations such as OWL/RDF [1].
- **Semantic Architect** (person role) architects ontology.
- **Semantic Developer **(person role) implements ontology modeling with associated data on selected platform
## Semantic Logic and Interface
Semantic integration is the process of interrelating information from diverse sources, for example calendars and to do lists, email archives, presence information (physical, psychological, and social), documents of all sorts, contacts (including social graphs), search results, and advertising and marketing relevance derived from them. In this regard, semantics focuses on the organization of and action upon information by acting as an intermediary between heterogeneous data sources, which may conflict not only by structure but also context or value [1].
- **Cloud Semantic Integrator** (company role) design, develop and implement API calls and actions executing semantic logic in dependency of architected semantic ontology
- **Cloud Service Consumer **(person role) consumes services integrated with designed and implemented semantic logic inherited from architected ontology
This short article is by no means intended to describe all semantic roles and responsibilities, it is rather a simplified attempt to summarize most important constructs, influenced by semantic needs all around us.
