![[screenshot_743.png]] > Edward Fredkin (digital physics pioneer) and Konrad Zuse (computer pioneer) came with idea that universe is fundamentally a giant universal computer. This “Digital Physics” idea is today connected to philosophy called [pancomputationalism](https://oxford.universitypressscholarship.com/view/10.1093/acprof:oso/9780199658855.001.0001/acprof-9780199658855-chapter-5) which claims that all the physical processes of nature are forms of computation or information processing at the most fundamental level of reality. If we will start to think about universe as a giant quantum computer, the question is: **What it computes?** The answer is surprisingly very simple. It computes itself! Our today’s digital computers are capable to execute universal computations and they can mimic major elements of universe as field of particles and their interactions, connected together inside three dimensions of space and time as a fourth dimension. The major difference between digital and quantum computers is computational power and their affectivity. The universe computer is quantum mechanical, digital computer is electronic mechanical (today). Our digital computers are based on binary (Boolean) logic (AND, OR, NOT), quantum computers are based on the law of quantum mechanics (there is dependency on the law of thermodynamics). ![[Pasted image 20230709112746.png|Figure 1: Computation]] The Energy and information are fundamental elements of any computation. Granularity of the information is directly connected to amount of energy necessary for creation and storing the information. This applies to all energy forms (such as electrical, mechanical etc.) and time wise it particularly shows efficiency of computational system. This efficiency grows exponentially in quantum computers for simple reason – they are not dependent on available (free) bits as digital (binary) computers. Efficiency and Energy are major building blocks of life sustainability for human civilization and are crucial for our survival on this planet today. We have to develop and support ecology oriented systems and focus on #EcoDesign of our society, environment and business processes. As of today, **cloud computing** is opening gateways into vast amount of computation capacity. Although we are running our computation on digital systems, almost indefinite amount of computational resources are suddenly available as (what I call) the Universal Computation Platform (UCP). This Universal Computation Platform represents a major milestone in our civilization, affording ability to **mimic worlds and systems** around us, automatize them, connect them together via network of machines and **design sustainable ecosystem of systems**. --- This article represents some of the ideas that are** bigger than authors and crowd** gathering around "The Spheres Movement". The Spheres Movement is a project of Vladimir Baranek, to re:invent foundational baseline for understanding, architecting and co-existing with ecosystems we know today (in sustainable way) and building for tomorrow (including future colonization efforts beyond our Earth origins).
